RUMOR
CONTROL
Jake
Gyllenhaal apparently has some wild oats in need of sowing. The dreamy-eyed
ex of Kirsten Dunst has been linked to three (count 'em, three!) young
ladies in just the past two weeks.
Not only was Gyllenhaal, 24, reportedly seen playing tonsil hockey with
"Maria Full of Grace" Oscar nominee Catalina Sandino Moreno at
Manhattan hotspot Bungalow 8, but the New York Post says he's been
"hanging out" with Lindsay Lohan in L.A. "every chance he
gets." The duo supposedly looked oh-so-cozy two nights in a row at a
couple of hipper-than-hip clubs.
But the "Donnie Darko" actor seems to be keeping his options open.
The New York Daily News reports he's been spied "making nice" with
Canadian model Daria Werbowy, whom he is said to have met at the Costume
Institute gala at the Met earlier this month.
When we contacted Gyllenhaal's rep about his seemingly full dance card, she
insisted he's not dating Lindsay, Catalina or Daria. He has spent some time
with Lohan, whom he met through mutual friends, the mouthpiece says, but it
was an "innocent" group gathering, not a one-on-one outing.

WASHINGTON
- Top entertainers will help Sen. Hillary Clinton reach into fat Hollywood
wallets again to raise big bucks for her Senate campaign.
The invitation to the
June 1 event in Hollywood lists as sponsors Christina Aguilera, Jake
Gyllenhaal, Lindsay Lohan, Scarlett Johansson, and Stuart Krasnow, among
others.
Set for the West
Hollywood home of film mogul Roland Emmerich, tickets range from $125 for
"guests," to $250 for "patrons," and $1,000 for
"co-hosts," according to the invitation.
The fund-rasier comes
as Republican Edward Cox, son-in-law of former President Richard Nixon,
planned to form an exploratory committee ahead of a likely run against
Clinton next year.

Stars
lining up for Maui Film Festival
WAILEA – Some of Hollywood’s biggest and busiest movie stars will be on
hand when the Maui Film Festival cranks up its sixth season in Wailea and at
the Maui Arts & Cultural Center June 15 to 19.
Jake Gyllenhaal, William H. Macy, Mike Myers, Marisa Tomei and
brothers Owen, Luke and Andrew Wilson will accept tribute awards at glitzy
receptions in the Wailea Marriott Ballroom, festival founder and director
Barry Rivers announced Tuesday.
Still finalizing arrangements, Rivers said a complete schedule will be
released in coming weeks. He was awaiting confirmation of even more stars
who have been approached about taking part in this year’s festival.
"It’s shaping up pretty good," he said of the coming season,
which will feature out-door screenings in Wailea at the Celestial Cinema,
Wailea Marriott Digital Skydome and SandDance Theater as well as screenings
in the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater and McCoy Studio
Theater.
"We’re really pretty excited, as is the industry," said Rivers,
noting coverage the Maui Film Festival had received Tuesday in a special
issue of the industry trade paper, The Hollywood Reporter.
The festival will also have a busy social schedule throughout Wailea,
supplementing the back-to-back star tributes with parties, receptions and
panel discussions.
Gyllenhaal, whose past films include "The Good Girl,"
"October Sky" and "The Day After Tomorrow," will accept
the festival’s Shining Star Award recognizing his "magnetic presence
on screen that generates both heat and light." He is soon to be seen in
"Proof" and "Brokeback Mountain."
William H. Macy, a familiar and well-loved actor in television as well as
movies, will accept the Rainmaker Award "for his magical ability to
positively impact the creative dynamics of every project he touches – both
on set and on screen." Among the 79 entries in his acting filmography
on the Internet Movie Data Base are the current hit "Sahara,"
"Seabiscuit," "Jurassic Park III," "Magnolia"
and many others.
Accepting the festival’s most prestigious prize, the Silversword Award,
will be Mike Myers for his "creative contributions to the art and soul
on cinema." A unique film artist, Myers is known for creating icons
rather than mere roles including Shrek and Austin Powers.
Marisa Tomei will accept the Pathfinder Award "for the ways in which
her eclectic choices and charismatic performances encourage us all to expand
the definition of what it means to be human." In addition to her
Oscar-winning supporting actress work in "My Cousin Vinny," she
has recently appeared in "Alfie" and "Anger Management."
The Shooting Star tribute will be shared by the Wilson brothers for their
collaboration on the soon-to-be-released "The Wendell Baker
Story." Owen Wilson is probably the best known of the three brothers
for work in films including "Meet the Fockers," "Starsky and
Hutch" and "The Royal Tanenbaums," co-starring brother Luke.
"The Wendell Baker Story" showcases the third brother, Andrew, who
co-directs with Luke.
More information on the festival will be available as it is confirmed at the
Maui Film Festival Web site: http://www.mauifilmfestival.com.
